Scientific Practice

As practice progresses, members of the practice team gradually move from knowing the forest rangers to walking into them. On July 20th, the "Green Backbone" social practice team of Shandong University of Technology conducted an interview and research with forest ranger Liao Rongpin in the Luoji Mountain area under the leadership of Yu Wenwen, the director of Leyue State owned Forest Farm.

The members of the "Green Backbone" practice team were first led by the factory director of the main text. They took a van through a rugged mountain road and arrived at the Luoji Mountain area. The students finally met the forest ranger Liao Rongpin. Through conversations with the forest ranger Liao Rongpin, the students learned that Liao Rongpin had been living on the mountain for more than ten days, but he still needed to stick to his position. These ten days, he ate the food brought from the bottom of the mountain and drank the spring water from the mountain. The conditions are extremely difficult, but this is the most common living situation for every grassroots forest ranger.

It is understood that all the fire extinguishing teams are from the Lisu ethnic group, who are familiar with mountain roads, have strong survival abilities, and live a difficult life. However, they still stick to their posts. From January to June each year, due to fire prevention, farmers are not allowed to bring any sources of fire up the mountain. If one person lights a fire on the mountain, the rest of the family will receive punishment. Extinguishing fires in the mountains mostly relies on cutting off the fire line, which is a very dangerous thing. This year, three members of the firefighting team sacrificed themselves in extinguishing wildfires due to being surrounded by them. The members of the practice team see perseverance, responsibility, responsibility, and courage in the older generation of forest rangers.

This practice group went deep into the mountainous areas, and through face-to-face interviews with forest rangers, students gained a more intuitive understanding of their work environment, living environment, and mental state, which will be of great help and education to their future learning and work.
